Note:
This lithograph is the first time René Magritte experimented with the medium of lithography. Magritte ventured into printmaking only at the age of 63, and due to his premature passing at 68, he had a limited output in this medium. Kaplan and Baum's catalogue raisonnée of Magritte's graphic works includes a mere 20 pieces, with only 6 of them being printed directly from lithographic stones or copperplates that Magritte personally worked on. Consequently, 'Les Bijoux Indiscrets', print holds significant importance in the artist's oeuvre.
