Note: The original etching was made in 1934 but the edition had to wait until 1961 when it was produced, from the original plate, by Galerie Louise Leiris. The style and content is synonymous with the Vollard Suite series with which it was contemporary. It depicts Picasso’s lover, Marie Therese, alongside the God of Wine - who resembles the sculptor in the Vollard Suite works. The cancelled plate still exists. 3 Proofs from the cancelled plate were made by Crommelynck in 1979.
