A fine unpublished autograph letter, in French, from Miró to Madeleine de Harting, director of the Librairie Champion and a close friend of the artist and his wife. Written in blue ink in Miró's graceful, almost calligraphic script, on Miró fine wove embossed personalized stationery. With the artist's large artistic signature.
One page, about 50 words. Harting was staying at the Manila Hotel (now the Hotel Méridien) on the Rambla in Barcelona. Miró tells Harting that he'll be at home in Palma (de Mallorca) for the holidays and would love to see her. He supplies his phone number (four digits!) and recommends that, while in Barcelona, she see the "Musée d'Art Ancien" (surely the Museu d'Art de Catalunya, now the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya) to see the wonderful (Romanesque) frescoes.
With the original envelope (also Miró's personalized stationery), with address and return address in Miró's hand.
Like many of Miró's letters, a work of art.
