A TRIAL PROOF OF ONE OF MIRÓ'S MOST IMPORTANT LITHOGRAPHS.
Miró executed this work to mark the tenth anniversary of the art periodical "Derrière le Miroir". First, 150 signed and numbered impressions were printed on fine Rives wove paper. Then a plate signature was added (lower left) and a much larger edition was printed on cheaper paper, trimmed a few millimeters and folded down the middle.
THIS IS A TRIAL PROOF, PRINTED ON FINE RIVES WOVE PAPER (LIKE THE DELUXE EDITION), BEFORE THE ADDITION OF THE PLATE SIGNATURE. It has not been folded or trimmed.
In perfect condition, with the colors exceptionally bright and vibrant.
Extremely rare and important.
