Paris: Georges Fall, 1975. Limited First edition. Folio (38 x 29 cm), 36 loose pages, as issued. Original printed wrappers, with blue and black lettering to front cover. Portfolio housed in a red cloth chemise, with blue lettering to spine and slipcase.
Accompanying a text by Arturo Schwarz, this portfolio contains four color etchings by André Masson, one of the pioneers of Surrealism. Each etching is hand-signed by the artist in pencil at lower right margin.
One of 150 numbered copy on Vélin d'Arches paper. Mint condition.
Note : Arturo Schwarz (born in 1924) is an Italian scholar, art historian, poet, writer, lecturer, art consultant and curator of international art exhibitions. He lives in Milan, where he has amassed a large collection of Dada and Surrealist art, including many works by personal friends such as Marcel Duchamp, André Breton, Man Ray, and Jean Arp.
