Salvador Dalí’s La Tauromachie Individuelle (Bullfight) reflects the artist’s enduring fascination with the spectacle, ritual and psychological intensity of the Spanish corrida. Rather than presenting bullfighting merely as a public performance, Dalí transforms it into a deeply personal confrontation—an encounter charged with courage, danger and the tension between instinct and control.

Created in 1966, the work combines heliogravure with stencil-applied colour, producing rich tonal contrasts and vivid accents characteristic of Dalí’s graphic œuvre. This impression is numbered LXIX/C and printed on Japanese paper, whose delicate texture enhances the refinement of the image. It was published in Paris by Pierre Argillet, Dalí’s close collaborator and the publisher of several important suites by the artist.

Hand-signed by Dalí and preserved in excellent condition, La Tauromachie Individuelle is documented in the principal catalogues raisonnés of his graphic work: Field 72-11 and Michler/Löpsinger 153.
